What a strange kind of week this has been. We are missing Alex and yet we are loving Tank.
Our tiniest students brought me wonderful pictures of Alex, with what they liked about him written in for them by their teacher. Each student handed me a picture which was
accompanied by a big hug.
The fourth graders went right to Alex’s portrait, painted by artist Rene Hein. It is on the front desk with his last place trophy for the Homecoming Parade and his school picture. Today, along with these things, is a beautiful arrangement of white flowers, sent by friends of Alex. We are all enjoying their sweet smell. (more…)



Susan Loesch has been the librarian at the Arkansas School for the Blind for 35 years and is on the board of Feline Rescue and Rehome. She started the library cat program about 10 years ago after much animal therapy research.
