Spring break shopping spree leaves kitty stylin’

Don’t you just love spring break? Eat, sleep, eat some more, take a quick t rip to a fun place for a shopping spree. No, I’m not talking about my spring break; this describes Alex’s!
After his doing nothing but eating and sleeping for most of the week, yesterday Alex and I made a trip to Petsmart to spend the $25 gift card he won in the Bissell Most Valuable Pet contest for placing in a weekly competition.
I carried Alex as we made our first stop at the snakes and the lizards. No interest there. Then we visited the birds, all kinds and beautiful colors, hopping around and singing. Surprisingly Alex wasn’t interested in them either. (more…)

It is Friday, the last day before spring break, and spring is just a few days away. It feels like a day to celebrate.

Since we had an Accelerated Reader rally scheduled for the library this morning, I put a spring-looking, happy-feeling bandana on Alex.

Barnacles! Library cat escapes St. Patrick’s Day pinches

Earlier this week I was reading a St. Patrick’s Day story to the kindergarten class, and they were all excited about the holiday.

Their teacher and I listened to them talk about catching leprechauns, and we were puzzled as to just why this particular holiday had them so pumped up.
